Mumbe Mwangangi is the founder of Nyansapo AI, a social enterprise that uses AI-powered assessments to make every learner visible and improve basic literacy and numeracy across Africa. Under her leadership, Nyansapo AI has reached thousands of pupils, providing teachers and education systems with real-time data to drive measurable learning outcomes.
Inspired by the philosophy of Ubuntu – «I am because we are» – she adopts a systemic approach informed by her experience within international organisations such as the UNDP (UNDP) and the’UNESCO.
She is currently pursuing a PhD in sustainable development, with her research focusing on the cognitive modelling of how smallholder farmers in Kenya perceive the risks of drought and develop their adaptation strategies. This work reflects her broader interest in understanding human systems, risk perception and resilience in the face of climate change.
